Tarka Dahl

Ingredients

For 1 Continued...
Dahl ¼ tspn cayenne pepper
¾ large tin pinto beans or chickpeas ½ tspn salt
½ small tin red kidney beans ¼ tspn garam masala
½ tspn fresh ginger Tarka
½ tspn garlic 100 gm onion
2 tbspn chopped tomatoes  

Preparation

  1. Tarka
  2. Heat 1 tbspn of oil in a frying pan and gently fry the onions until they are golden brown for about 15 min.
  3. Dahl
  4. Bring the bean mixture to a boil and then simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for 15 min adding simple boiled base sauce as necessary if it becomes too dry

Serving

  1. Serve with naan bread.
