C41 Balti Chicken Tikka Masala

This has been adapted from a restaurant recipe to produce a single portion with some ingredient and cooking style changes. A very tasty MILD balti curry.

Ingredients

For 1 Continued...
2 - 3 tbspn oil ¼ tspn dried mint
30 gm onion (prepared weight) 1 portion c41 balti pre-cooked chicken tikka
¼ tspn ginger (grated) 300 ml c41 balti tikka masala sauce (see note 2)
¼ tspn garlic (crushed) ¼ tspn salt
¼ tspn black onion seeds 2 tbspn single cream
¼ tspn black cumin seeds (see note 1)  

Preparation

Cooking - 7 min

  1. Over a medium/high flame heat the oil in a wok (or similar) and fry the onion, stirring regularly, for 2 min.
  2. Stir in the ginger and garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the onion seeds, cumin seeds and dried mint and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the c41 balti pre-cooked chicken tikka, 150 ml of c41 balti tikka masala sauce and salt and cook, stirring regularly, for 3 min, adding c41 balti tikka masala sauce as needed to maintain the desired sauce consistency.
  5. Reduce the heat and stir in the single cream and cook, stirring regularly, for 1 min.

Serving

  1. Serve with naan or rice and garnish with a little freshly chopped coriander.

Notes

(1) If black cumin seeds are unavailable use 'ordinary' cumin seeds.
(2) Warm the c41 balti tikka masala sauce before use.
